Hiscox Tourmalet Challenge · 8 July 2016

We’re Mind, the mental health charity, working across England & Wales. We believe no one should face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support & advice, & fight your corner. Thanks for fundraising for national Mind.

Story

In this 103rd year of the Tour de France, 41 cycling enthusiasts (27 Hiscox Preferred Brokers, 14 Hiscox staff) took on the ambitious challenge of riding (almost all of) stage 8 of the 2016 Tour de France on 8th July (the day before the professionals), starting in Lourdes and finishing in Bagnères-de-Luchon.

We raised funds for a number of charities, one of which is Mind. With the permission of Sam Martin's family, we set up this page in memory of Sam who tragically took his own life in November 2013. Sam was a member of the Hiscox Mont Ventoux Challenge team which cycled stage 15 of the 2013 Tour de France that July. We enjoyed working and cycling with Sam, and hope to raise lots of money for Sam's family's chosen charity.
