The Objectives of the Charitable Association are to support the soldiers, their wives and families in the event of hardship. The Association will help in the event of casualties and bereavement, not just in the immediate aftermath but in the longer term.

Story

Members of B Squadron, recently returned from working as an Afghan Advisory team in Central Helmand on Operation HERRICK 14, will honour the sacrifice made and honour the bravery of two colleagues, Staff Sergeant Paul Swain and Tpr Jimmy Gilborn who are currently rehabilitating in Hedley Court by conducting a particularly arduous challenge.

On 14th November the team start a four day cycle across Europe from their base with 7th Armoured Brigade in Hohne to Headley Court. The soldiers will be in the middle of demanding and tough rehabilitation programs which mark the beginning of the long process of learning to adapt, and re-build their lives and careers in the face of life-changing injuries.

Not only will the event be made tough by the large distance to be covered in 4 days, but also by the uncertain weather. After the challenge the team will swing North and make their way to the midlands joining up with the Regiment as they come to UK at the end of November to conduct homecoming parades in their heartland of Northampton (22nd), Leicester(24th), Derby(26th) and Chestefield (28th).

Money donated will go to the Regimental charity which helps both injured soldiers and their families in times of need, as well as helping the families of the deceased.
