They said 2.62 miles, didn't they?...

London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After cheering my dad on and seeing all of his hard work for three marathons, I thought I’d give it a go myself!
A marathon is one hell of a challenge but this is nothing compared to the one my Aunty Sarah faced. The determination, courage and strength she presented is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. She could have given 10,000 marathon runners a real run for their money.
This is one of the reasons why I wanted to put in for the London Marathon, just to try and understand a glimpse of what this beautiful inspiration faced. When I’m training and I see a tough hill, or I’m increasing the miles and think the feeling is the worst thing in the world, reality hits and I understand it’s not an ounce of the battle she endured. Deciding on the charity I wanted to raise money for was no task; Brain Tumour Research is focused on finding a cure and what an achievement that would be. Any donation is so greatly appreciated, it all goes towards a real worthwhile cause. My goal is to raise enough to fund a full day of research 🤞🏻
As many of you know, I got injured two weeks before the London Marathon in 2019 so I deferred my entry to 2020. This was a very hard decision to make after months of training but I wanted to be able to put my all into it.
With the current climate we are all facing, the 2020 London Marathon was very sadly cancelled. The organisation behind the event, Virgin Money, gave all deferred entrants the chance to run the event in October 2021. I jumped at the opportunity, as you can imagine, so I can finally face my challenge!
It has now been confirmed that I will be running the London Marathon on 3rd October 2021!
I wanted to thank you all for all of the support I have received during this journey. Your donations and kind words make this all worth while!
Bring on the challenge 🤩
