Hong and I are celebrating our 25th weddding anniversary this year, having shared 25 wonderful years together bringing up our 7 children, working together and sharing life with our parents, our large extended family and friends. Whilst we give thanks for this blessing, it saddens us to know of so many couples whose marriages are in trouble. Many of you will know of our involvement in Alpha. Recently, we came to know of the Alpha Marriage Course and how marriages have been restored through the Course. Saved marriages means saved families and happy families give children the best start in life.
The Marriage Course is run in churches of all denominations, for Christians and non Christians. In fact the Chinese Government, recognising the strain that a fast developing economy has put on family life, is close to sanctioning the Marriage Course for official use. Alpha needs Pds77,000 for the international development of the Course, which includes the cost of translation of the course materials into Chinese and other languages.
We have therefore decided to support the Family Life programme in Alpha as part of our 25th anniversary celebration. We would be very happy if you would join us to support this programme.
