Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On March 28th last year my wonderfully funny, warm, father of three brother-in-law suffered a devastating stroke which turned his family's life upside down. Against the odds he has made a tremendous recovery but has been left with difficulties with his speech and right hand.  He and Jo and their three children have been truly inspiring - their courage, determination and most of all humour has touched us all.

When Jo, his wife, asked if anybody would cycle from London to Paris and raise money for the Stroke Association I couldn't do anything else but say yes! I will be running the London Marathon in April and a month later cycling from London to Paris with "Team Nick" - my sister-in-law Jo Cann, daughter Lucy Cann, cousin Kate Whittaker and Nick and Jo's great friend Julie Lord to raise money for this wonderful charity who continue to be a great support to Nick and many others who have survived a stroke.

This is going to be quite a challenge - I'm not a very good cyclist!  This one's for you Nick!

Please support me - any donation however small is really appreciated. Thank you.
