Nationally acclaimed photographer John Swannell, together with the NAS have launched the Transforming Lives project. From his early days as an assistant to David Bailey at Vogue John has photographed the rich and the famous. His black and white photographs of Diana, Princess of Wales playing with her two young sons are instantly recognisable. Having married a beautiful American model, Marianne, they have a lovely life, he's successful and hugely entertaining. An enviable life.

However, they have Charlie, a 22 year old with Asperger syndrome, a form of autism. For these sufferers the world is a muddle of places and people; they have enormous social difficulties.John and Marianne's story of trying to cope with Charlie's development into an adult and their fears for him in the future have prompted me to ask you to help this project succeed. There is virtually no support for parents of young adults who are going through this difficult stage. This project will address the problems that thousands of young adults and their families face and they need £100,000 to get it off the ground.
