This summer term after Common Entrance has finished I will be going on a 30 mile, 3 day walk in Snowdonia. All fourteen walkers are leaving Maidwell this summer. As part of my leavers programme, me and 11 other boys and 2 Girls, 13 Fathers, a Mother and our Headmaster will be walking about 30 miles across the most challenging range of mountains in Snowdonia during which we will ascend and descend 3 mountains whilst carrying 15-20kg rucksacks with all of our tents, sleeping bags, food and clothes. We will be spending the first night in a youth hostel and the other 2 nights sleeping up a mountain freezing to death.
The charity we are supporting is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). This charity helps juveniles with Type 1 diabetes and has the aim to type 1 diabetes but in the meantime just trying to help make it easier to manage for juveniles with type 1 diabetes, this is close to home.
I can not wait to do this challenge and it will be a fantastic start to my amazing leavers programme. It would be very kind of you to donate some money ( every little bit helps ) to me so that a cure to type 1 diabetes can be found quicker.
Thank you for your generosity.
