<p>Cancer Research Wales is close to the heart of all of the People at Pensord as our chosen charitable cause and is of particular significance in my household.</p>
<p>In recent years the lives of very close family and good friends have been effected by this devastating illness. When presented with an opportunity to help raise funds to assist in the endless task of finding a cure for this disease I jumped at it and thought I could put my new found fitness regime to the test.</p>
<p>So what is this Three Peaks Challenge i've set myself up for?</p>
<p>At first light on the morning of Saturday 26th May 2012 we will set off from the base of Mt.Snowdon and climb its 1085m. We then descend a lot more quickly than we climbed and travel to Cader Idris, also in Snowdonia, and climb its 892m. This is followed by picturesque journey through mid Wales to Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons, and with tired limbs and aching feet we attempt the final 886m - all in the same day!</p>
