Story

We’re really excited to have Lizzie Smith onboard for the “Ninja Warrior UK to Namaste” exercise at home program during the COVID-19 pandemic!

Lizzie has been a supporter of #IBDSuperHeroes since the very beginning and has raised lots of funds for our nominated charity, Cure Crohn’s Colitis! She also took part in ITV’s Ninja Warrior UK, dressed as Lizzie Loo!

Lizzie is a Physiotherapist, and is keen to support the IBD community, and beyond at this difficult time!

So, here’s what you can expect.

Join Lizzie LIVE at 6pm on Tuesday evenings, OR catch up and do the classes over and over again if you enjoy them (we’re sure you will), over on the #IBDSuperHeroes YouTube!

Lizzie has designed these classes JUST FOR YOU. They are a 40 minute fusion (because she loves the word) of multiple exercise styles such as Pilates and Yoga, and are suitable for all abilities. Each session includes a warm-up and a cool down, with stretches and movement exercises. In the middle, some simple strengthening exercises and cardio.

Head to the IBDSuperHeroes Facebook page and click the events tab to join in!

We have set up TWO fundraising pages for this activity, so if you’d like to donate to thank Lizzie for her time, you can do so in two ways;

The NHS Charities together COVID-19 appeal - Funds generated will be granted to member NHS Charities supporting the health and emotional wellbeing of those at the frontline of the NHS, so they can deliver the best care possible to coronavirus patients.

Cure Crohn’s Colitis – 100% of donations fund patient-centric research, to improve the lives of those living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Current funded projects include identifying genetic markers that predict patient response to treatment. This will patients receive the right treatment for them, reducing adverse reactions, and speeding up the time to remission.
