Story

**UPDATE** 20th August 2007**

Sorry for the delay in updating this page, but we did it!! Early on the 20th July, the team set out in the mist from Horton in Ribblesdale to scale Pen-Y-Ghent. It was immediately obvious that this ws to be 'no stroll in the park', however the team exceeded all expectations. The 'results' were as follows:

14 out of 14 reached the summit of Pen-Y-Ghent;

14 out of 14 reached the summit of Whernside

12 out of 14 reached the summit of Ingleborough

10 out of 14 retrurned to Horton in Ribblesdale within 12 Hours (with 6 completing in a time of just over 10 hours).

All of the team really enjoyed the experience (although not everyone enjoyed attempting movement the following day). Thankyou to everyone that has supported us. It is most appreciated by IJS Consultants and the New Childrens Hospital Appeal.

Over the coming months we will be undertaking further events to move us closer to our fundraising target (next up, its a 'Sprint' Triathlon for Clive), so keep an eye on this page for further details.

Thanks again from all at IJS

**UPDATE**18th July 2007**

This is just a note to thank everyone for the support given so far. It is much appreciated by us guys, IJS Consultants as a company, the folks involved with the charity and of course the kids (and their parents) that will benefit from the support in the long run.

Thought that we'd give everyone an update on the plans for your personal interest.

The plan for Friday is to start the walk from the car park at Horton in Ribblesdale promptly at 7:30am (so no lie-ins allowed!). Hopefully we'll be able to enjoy(?!) a nice, albeit exhausting, day of walking over some of the Yorkshire hills and be back where we started in time for a pub dinner and a well deserved pint before home time.

In all seriousness though, despite training for the event having been occasionally patchy and often hampered by the weather there are still 14 of us determined to take on the peaks on Friday in the name of a good cause. We're not expecting it to be easy but are looking forward to the challenge.

****************************************

IJS Consultants have selected The New Manchester Children’s Hospital Appeal as our Charity of the Year for 2007.

We will be holding a number of events over the coming year, but to kick off the fundraising, we have decided to embark upon a test of endurance. On the 20th July 2007, the team will attempt the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, a trek over the summits of Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside. Our target is to get the team across the 25 mile route in under 12 hours (and win entry to the exclusive ‘Three Peaks of Yorkshire’ Club), although rumours that there are a couple of ‘watering holes’ en-route could hamper progress.

We would very much appreciate your support to achieve our sponsorship target, to support what we feel is a very worthwhile cause. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Central Manchester & Manchester Children's University Hospitals Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Please keep an eye on this page and www.ijsc.co.uk. We will post regular updates on progress, reports and photos and details of upcoming events.

Thank you in anticipation of your support
