About our charity : RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution
The RNLI saves lives at sea. RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK and the Republic of Ireland. RNLI lifeguards provide a seasonal lifeguard service on selected beaches. An average of 22 people are rescued every day from the water, in situations which are often difficult and sometimes dangerous. The RNLI is independent from Government, relying on donations for its income, so can only continue thanks to people like you. The RNLI is a charity, registered in England, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland.

Our personal message:

So far we're a little short of our £1,000 sponsorship target. We've raised a pitiful £215. Don't let us embarrass ourselves any more than Manley and Rowan normally manage to.

We'll wear silly lifeboat costumes for you if you keep on sponsoring!

So, there we are, having a nice cup of tea and some HobNobs and Manley is spouting forth on the agonies of last year's Great West Run. Whilst, as a 'larger gentleman', Manley saw some benefits to the run, he is strongly voicing the opinion that running is unpleasant and he submits, as evidence, the memory that at no time during last years race did he experience anything which could be construed as even closely approaching 'fun'.

Why Rowan decided to goad Manley into running again is easy to imagine.  Why he allowed himself to be dragged into it we can only guess at.  Matt laughed and, behold! the www.itsmymarket.com Great West Run Running Team was born.
