WALES AIR AMBULANCE is a charitable emergency service that provides vital air cover across the whole of Wales for life-threatening illness or injuries. Since its launch on St David’s Day in 2001, the three red helicopters stationed in Mid, North and South Wales respond to over a thousand emergencies a year, saving countless lives. From mountain tops to back gardens, the helicopters can be anywhere in Wales within just 20 minutes. With such a diverse landscape, the ‘Helimeds’ are vital for reaching both remote countryside and bustling towns and cities when time really matters. To keep the service running and introduce New Generation helicopters, in-line with Civil Aviation Authority legislation, requires Wales Air Ambulance to raise £5 Million a year.

My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are a group of 12 Student Officers from Dyfed-Powys Police who, along with our Trainers, will be conducting a 20 mile sponsored walk along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path on Friday 25th September 2009, which is at the end of our 27th week of our 30 week IPLDP (Initial Police Learning and Development Programme) course.

We have nominated Wales Air Ambulance as our course charity and all funds raised will be going to support them in providing emergency medical assistance to casualties throughout Wales using their 3 helicopters.
