Harpenden and Wheathampstead 3rd Expedition to HoHoe in 2011

Hi,

Please give generously to this marvellous expedition to develop our young peoples' potential, help them to experience the challenging African culture, and work with local Ghanaian Scouts to make life long friends. 

On our last trip in 2008, we, together with the Ghanaian Scouts, built a Scout Hut and Community Centre. It was a phenominal experience for the Scouts from both the UK and Ghana, and led to our Scouts winning the Hertfordshire Young Person of the Year Award in May 2009. 

Our expedition will last 3 weeks and start in mid-July 2011. Our project is to refurbish the Mothers Lodge which is part of Hohoe Hospital.

The Scouts working with local Ghana Scouts will

*  renew or replace windows (frames, glass louvers and mosquito netting) 

*  renew or replace doors

*  renew or replace ceilings 

*  create sleeping rooms

*  refurbish toilets and showers 

*  render walls inside and out

*  paint inside and out  

*  supply electricty and water

*  In addition the hospital nurses office will be completely refurbished and equipped
