ODA is a student-run charity that works to harness the energy, enthusiasm and resources of the Oxford student body to assist with small-scale, community-initiated development projects in the developing world.

Story

This summer I am going to Uganda with Oxford Development Abroad. We will be working with a local NGO called Little Big Africa, whose projects aim to provide rural communities with reliable access to safe water. As well as living with villagers for six weeks whilst the engineering projects are underway, we will be teaching in schools and holding adult community lessons on topics such as sanitation and fuel efficiency.

In order to earn your support for this cause I RAN THE BATH BEAT CROSS-COUNTRY MARATHON (26.5 miles mainly uphill and through mud) on April 9th, and I will quite possibly taking on a few other fundraising challenges before the summer.

ALL OF YOUR GENEROUS DONATIONS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO LITTLE BIG AFRICA in order to fund their development work. (All volunteers will be funding their own travel and accommodation costs).

Thanks,

Iain
