Brighton Marathon 2010 · 18 April 2010 ·

We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of the disease.

Story

On the 18th April 2010 I will be running my very first Marathon so please dig deep and help me get through the training.

I will be running the inaugural Brighton Marathon on what promises to be a pretty hilly and windy course.

If that is not enough my training will include my other passion; UNESCO World Heritage Sites My training partner, Jim, and I have become the first people to ever run between four inscribed sites! (I think that makes it a world record).
We will be running between the only four that are within running distance of each other, namely Kew Gardens, Westminster, Tower of London and Greenwich, a grand total of 16 miles.
We did it in a fairly sedate 2hours 49minutes.

So please if you think the masses of effort in training and a new world record are worthy enough of a donation please do so now.

Just a word on my charity of choice, I haven’t just chosen it at random.

As some of you may know my Father was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer a few years back. However with early diagnosis and great treatment my Dad is still fit and healthy today.

This was in part thanks to the great research and dedication shown by Bowel Cancer UK. So any money you can spare would be greatly appreciated, and can hopefully mean that plenty of other people end up as fit and healthy as my Dad.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bowel Cancer UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
