Story

Updated 2.05pm 15/10/2010 - All done this morning in 2 hrs 45 mins with a little help of Live & Let Die, Alan Partridge and Girls Aloud on my Iphone!! This page will stay open until July 2015 so if you can still donate it would be appreciated with all funds going to assist in Spurgeons valuable charity work.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page and hopefully I can get you to part with your hard earned money!!

I work for Spurgeons as their Business Development Manager and Friday 15th October 2010 is Spurgeons National Fundraising Day called The Big Orange Stomp! http://www.thebigorangestomp.com/ My aim leading up to this day is to raise £1,000 which will directly fund vital work we do with vulnerable children, young people and families.

To raise this amount (or hopefully more) I will be cycling the equivalent of 45 miles which is the distance between my home in Nottingham and office in . I will however be doing this distance on an exercise bike at the Village Hotel gym in on Friday 15th October as I have the comfort of knowing I can step (or crawl) straight into the steam room and jacuzzi when I have finished and the fact that I have a severely damaged knee!!!

Spurgeons have been working with marginalised and disadvantaged children and young people for over 140 years now. We were founded in 1867 when Baptist preacher Charles Haddon Spurgeon responded to the desperate plight of children living on the streets of and opened an orphanage in Stockwell, . Our work has changed considerably since those early days, evolving into long-term strategic partnerships with local authorities, churches and other supporters to provide a wide variety of vital services for children and young people. Today you will find us at the heart of communities - listening, learning and building trust to make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks

Ian
