Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’m taking part in The Big Walk 2017, a walking challenge on 30 June -1 July. This 50 mile circular walk will start and end at the University and will include going out into the Peak District. We’ll have up to 24 hours to complete as much of the route as we can and I’m determined to complete 25 miles. This is further than I have ever walked in one go in my entire life and may very well destroy my feet.

The Sheffield Scanner will help researchers and doctors in Sheffield  treat numerous nasty neurodegenative diseases including heart disease, a personal nemesis of mine that forced my father into early retirement and meant I never met my paternal grandfather. It will also help us better understand the effects of strokes, a condition which has also afflicted several close family members.  You can find out more details about the cause here: www.shef.ac.uk/big-walk

Please donate to this fantastic cause which will have a terrific impact for everyone in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond.
