Story

Ians Afghan Agony

Thank you for reading this. On 5th November I will be deploying to Kandahar Air Field in Afghanistan with 12 (B) Sqn  During this deployment i need to focus on a challenge that will help the time pass quickly and more importantly raise some much needed funds for a fantastic charity.

Ians Afghan Agony challenge will comprise of me lifting free weights to the Equivalent weight of 8 Tornado GR4 aircraft-fully fuelled. This is Approximately 168 Tonnes, in addition I will cover 1000Km by running, rowing, x-training and cycling every day. To put this in perspective I will need to achieve 10 km per day and 1.68 tonnes per day with a small amount of contingency days built into the schedule to allow for injuries or operational distraction.  For people who know me, you will know i am not an ulta runner or body builder and this represents a considerable challenge.  Please link to my page and donate some wonga ! Thank you for your support
