My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday 9th August 2009 the conditions were perfect for an early evening skydive. I was able to make the jump from 12,000 feet, so finally I got the opportunity to experience the "adrenaline rush". It was my first ever tandem jump, which included around 40 seconds of freefall prior to the parachute opening!

There are no words to describe the sheer exhilaration of the rapid descent through the clouds, but all I will say is that on safe landing I just wanted to go straight back up there and do it all over again. The peaceful float down on the chute was amazing, and the instructor was excellent, making me feel calm and safe throughout. I would recommend the site to anyone who feels brave enough to make the jump! Details of that site are as below

North London Parachute School

at Chatteris Airfield, which is located near the town of March, Cambridgeshire.

Details on location can be found on the link below

This was something I always wanted to do, and having reached the age of 40 earlier this year it feels great to say I have finally acheived it! And I still have 8 other lives in tact so I can jump again in the future!

I have added some still shots from the day on this site, and I have also purchased the DVD as a permanent reminder of my skydive, which I should be receiving shortly.

I would like to say a huge thank you to my wife, Mandy and our family, who helped to create, fund and support the jump, and for their patience while I spent valuable time waiting to take this opportunity.

I would also like to add massive thanks to all of you who have already supported me by donating your hard earned cash to the wonderful charity (details below). Anyone who still feels they would like to make a donation, are still welcome to do so, as this website will run until the end of October. Any further contributions would be welcomed, and gratefully appreciated.

As always any donations are purely for charity, and the worthy cause is

The Thomas Ball Children's Cancer Fund

which is marking their 10 year anniversary of helping children who are diagnosed with cancer and their families in the UK. Amongst other things the charity do to help children with cancer, they provide annual trips to EuroDisney for seriously ill children, so any donations received will really help to brighten the lives of families who live with the disease, and their loved ones. More information can be found about the charity on the link below.
