Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Those of you who have known me for a while will have noticed that over the past 3 years in particular my waistline has expanded, in fact I have added almost 4 stone to my mass.  I have had a good time doing it and always quipped when people mentioned my weight that 'the wealthier I have got the fatter I have become' but after some recent illnesses I have decided that enough is enough and I must shed this weight.

At the same time I would like to put some of the money to good use and make good on a promise I made a long time ago that I have never delivered on.

Again, those of you who have known me for a while will know that my darling daughter Millie was born 3 months premature at just 2lb 5ozs and was looked after by the excellent staff of Sharoe Green baby care unit in Preston.  She 'died' 3 times in the days that followed her birth and these brilliant people brought her back to life every time.  Without them my life wouldn't be as rich as it is today!

They are funded by the NHS but also rely on £100,000 per year fundraising to maintain the life saving services they offer and I want to help them.  When we left the hospital with Millie I said that I would raise money for the unit and I am ashamed to say that I never have.

Therefore  I am looking for sponsorship to encourage me to lose the weight I need to (4 stone) which I aim to do by the end of Feb 2010 (3lbs per week), so any money you can offer, any at all, would be very welcome.  I promise to keep all those that donate updated as to my progress through email and Twitter @ian_partington

Whatever money has been donated by the end of February I will personally match so the more you sponsor me, the more I will pay in myself (must be incentive in itself :))
