At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

The "Tour de Grid" Challenge is a 10 day cycling event with 10 consecutive stages from Scotland to Kent, each starting and ending at one of National Grid's key gas and electricity sites and offices.  Riders can take part in a single stage, multiple stages, or the whole route North to South.  I struggled to choose my favourite stages to ride, so I thought I'd better ride them all. So I will line up at the start at St Fergus on the 4th September and, if all goes to plan, finish at the Isle of Grain on the 13th September, covering about 1230km (765miles) and 13,000m (43,000ft) of climbing.

The entire ride will be supported by National Grid employee volunteers to maximise the amount of money we raise for Alzheimer's Society.  I have been set a challenging personal target to raise £1800, so any support you are able to give would be greatly appreciated.

Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity.  They provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
