Never run this far before in my life, but I hope I can make it in one piece!
I'm raising funds for Our Celebration, partly because I'm their fundraising officer and leading by example! But I also see some of the brilliant work that OC do to help people who are recovering from severe mental health problems, and this is an organisation that really does help some of the most vulnerable people in society, and can literally change people's lives.
All of the people who OC help are local to York, and range from young adults who have been recently diagnosed, who need support to get well and back into the workplace, to older people who have enduring conditions and need the supportive environment that OC can give them. In every case though, the focus is on helping to promote recovery, and helping people to progress and lead a more fulfilling life.
