“60 mile cycle ride and 10k swim (not on same day)”

on 2 May 2012

Donations cannot currently be made to this page
We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

So, why am I doing this? I'll not make a big song and dance about the particular charity, all (well most) charities are worth supporting and anything involving children the more so. The bike ride will be easy. I'll not ask for a penny for doing that. The swim will be twice as far as I have ever swum before - 10k (400 lengths of a 25m pool) is considered swimming's equivalent of running a marathon. I have no idea now if I can do it! It will take a summer of ploughing up and down the local pool for hours on end. I am asking for your support for the swim. Please donate loads and loads of money to this cause. You will take great comfort in knowing it is supporting something that needs supporting and you will take even greater comfort knowing that I will be in pain as my wayward front crawl pulls me ever onwards towards that final 400th length!

The swim will be in October by the way. The ride is in June.

Thanks.....Ian
