Since 2002, the Tag Rugby Trust has worked in 8 countries around the world. Post Covid, our focus is very much in Zimbabwe. We use rugby as a vehicle to “Build Futures” through social outreach programmes in the community. Sustainability and local ownership are central pillars to our approach.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

Our challenge is to create a pool of coaches and administrators to work with the bulging classrooms of primary school children and to initiate positive and lasting change for individuals and communities, suing the universal power and simplicity of sport.

All funds raised will be used to cover the training and development costs in Uganda of 5 young volunteer leaders from South Sudan so that they can then develop and train more volunteers in South Sudan. https://www.facebook.com/southsudanrugby/

TRT uses rugby as a vehicle to build futures, by providing relevant and challenging opportunities for children and adults alike.

Importing coaches is expensive and not sustainable (although they do play an important role), so we look to the following groups to build the necessary structures:

  •  Adult Volunteer Programme in Wales and South Sudan
  • Young Leader Programme in Wales and South Sudan

TRT which incentivises volunteering and training through verification to build the structures and develop the skills necessary to sustain tag rugby.
