Story
Cycling across Cuba over mountains in searing heat is not everyone’s idea of fun. The probability of fatigue, sunburn and pain occurring over hurricane torn roads is high. But the cause is worthwhile. I have asked many to join me; but alas for one reason or another few have met the challenge. So I will do this on behalf of all those who are with me in spirit but not on bike……as long as I get help reaching my sponsorship target.
Why would a man of age, with little recent cycling experience, attempt such a challenge?
What better reason than to support the Music fund for Cuba (established by Kirsty MacColl) which raises funds for essential equipment for projects and schools such as Abel Santamaria for visually impaired kids in Havana.
The US refuses to remove its 48 year old blockade of Cuba – so let’s raise funds and awareness and help supply the goods to match the incomparable talents and determination of the Cuban people.
I will match fund every donation until I reach my target of £2,300 - with appropriate comments.
Hasta la Victoria Siempre.
Ian
