On 10th July 2011, Karl and I fly out to Tanzania with 15 friends from Northern Ireland where we will attempt to climb Africa's highest mountain Kilimanjaro.

We are raising money for 'The Smiles Foundation' charity which was set up in 1990 - just months after the fall of Ceausescu in Romania. The charities founders visited a number of state run orphanages and of the thousands of children they saw, one common observation was noted with them all - a total lack of Smiles.

The Charity seeks to relieve poverty, promote education and provide hope & opportunity for many through a variety of projects which include Food Distribution, Medical Support, Social Assistance, Education, Child Care, Life Skills Training and Housing provision.

Money is as desperately needed now just as much as it was in 1990.
