At the start of May I'm going to be cycling just under 1000 miles from John O'Groats to Lands End, the End to End Challenge!
Along with 5 others we'll be doing this in only 9 days, therefore roughly 110 miles a day (8 hours in the saddle, pretty uncomfortable on our butts!!). This is a tough challenge, doing it in 10 days is considered quick.

Starting from John O'Groats we'll head South down the East Coast and then inland towards the bonnie Highlands. After roughly 3 days we'll pass between Glasgow and Edinburgh avoiding all the Super Tennant drinking toothless ginger locals! The next couple of days we'll be cycling through the North of England. Communication will be difficult with the locals due to language problems and to be honest we'll probably not stop, some scally robbing our wheels would be an issue! With the North behind us and over halfway through the ride the horizon will be looking sweeter than ever. Racing South we'll pass through Hereford on day 7 and then over the Severn Bridge, just missing glorious Gloucestershire. Dodging the cider farmers on their combine harvesters we'll head down towards Exeter and on to Bodmin. There will be 6 additional beasts on the moor that day although probably walking like we've been through Brokeback Mountain! Finally day 9 and a 60 mile sprint finish into Lands End!!

"Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever."  Lance Armstrong

I'm doing all this for Star's charity of the year, The National Star College based in Gloucestershire. They are an independent specialist college working with learners who have physical disabilities and associated learning difficulties. They rely on fundraising and sponsorship so please dig deep! The money I raise will go along towards supporting the college's projects.
