Story

to bike ride

Hi, thank you for visiting my Just Giving page.

On I'm taking part in the annual bike ride from to .

This is the first time that I've done this and also the first time that I've raised money for

Stepping Hill Neo-Natal Unit.

WHY STEPPING HILL NEO-NATAL UNIT??

When my wife and I learnt that we were going to be parents, we were over the moon and learnt our baby was due on .

Due to complications including preeclampsia our baby was delivered by emergency C-section at 29 weeks gestation on .

We had a son and called him Jack, he was taken straight down to Neo-Natal and for the 3 months (97 days) after his birth was kept in Stepping Hill Neo-Natal unit, which is where we were every possible minute of the day we could be.

He got the nick name of Jack Mak.

He eventually came home but still on oxygen and with an apnea at night which were gradually reduced over time.

was the momentous day he came off his oxygen fully.

I am raising money for Stepping Hill Neo-Natal unit to show how much appreciation we have for there help, understanding and care they showed us and Jack during our time there.

Thankfully most people don't have to go through trials like this when their children are born, but for those babies that do encounter complications etc, these are the people that can save not only our babies lives but the lives of the parents and their families.

We met many people coming and going through the ward and some we've kept in contact with and watch the children grow with a smile that brings warmeth to our hearts.

With this money they can recruit and train more staff and also supply more equipment to help change peoples future like they did ours.

Without the neo-natal unit, we wouldn't have our son.

Take a look at the video I’ve put together and also the photos.

This is our experience shared.

Please help me beat my target, even if it's just 1 or , it all counts and much appreciated.

If you could post this to your e-mail and social network contacts then I would be very gratefull

Thank you and take care.
