Story
On the 16 June, I will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge along with a number of my colleagues from Page Personnel and Michael Page, supporting our charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support.
Now, I'm looking for a sympathy vote here..... Having been unwell earlier in the year, I'd had to drop out of this event but I set myself the challenge of getting fit in time to take part.
I'm now two stone lighter than I was at the end of March but I'm entering with just 3 weeks to go so I have very little time to raise money and get in training.
It’s for a phenomenal cause that justifies the effort that the event involves: enduring a 25 mile hike across the three tallest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales (5,000ft of climb) within 12 hours. I'll be aiming to do it in 10 hours.
The money raised from this event will go towards our two year goal of funding four Macmillan Cancer Nurse Specialists, supporting and treating hundreds more cancer patients and their families across the UK.
Together we will make a difference.
I must raise a minimum of £300. At least 80% of this money will benefit Macmillan Cancer Support, the balance being spent on the costs of the challenge. 100% of any sum raised over £300 will benefit Macmillan Cancer Support.
