Ian & Richard running the London Marathon 2019 for #claireschallenge

London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·
In August 2017, at the age of 33 Claire (Ians wife, Richards sister in law) was diagnosed with both cervical and breast cancer despite have no symptoms and being otherwise fit and well. Over the last eighteen months she has undergone several operations, and many chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions.
At the start of 2018 Claire found out she is BRACA2 positive, a defective gene which increases their chance of developing breast cancer from 15% to 60-80% over their lifetime. Claire has had a double mastectomy as part of her cancer treatment to reduce her ongoing risk.
Despite all this treatment and with two further big operations ahead she has decided to take on the London Marathon 2019 for Macmillan, whilst Ian & Rich will take the challenge on with her doing it for Cancer Research so we can all finish #claireschallenge together! We will update this page regularly with our latest updates!
#claireschallenge was set up by Claire when she was first diagnosed to raise vital money for Cancer Research and Macmillan Cancer Support and to date has raised over £32,000! More info can be found here:

We are now hoping for a last push and will be using this page to focus our fundraising on Cancer Research specifically. Our total will be added to the overall #claireschallenge total at the end.
