Thanks for taking the time to click onto the Whittington Hospital Ifor Ward TV appeal!
Newsflash! Hospital contractors HPM heard about the TV appeal for our children's ward and have offered to kit the ward out free of charge, reducing the total amount to fundraise to £6,000! We hope the TVs will be up on the wards by Autumn 2011.
Thanks to all that have donated, especially to Oli and his family & friends - there's still a little bit to go but we're only a few steps away thanks to the gift-in-kind from HPM contractors!
Currently, on the Ifor children's ward, children have do not have access to TVs, which would help to pass the time, stimulate the child and make it an easier stay for these bed bound patients.
Parents, children, staff and visitors have all asked over the years if we can equip the children's ward with TVs - but tightening NHS budgets cannot stretch to purchasing the TVs.
CAN YOU HELP? Please give generously to this appeal.
We hope to purchase, fit and maintain 16 TVs across the ward so that all beds and rooms will have a view to a screen.
But this project comes at a cost of £25,000 as these TVs need to be fixed with special ceiling arms, come upto hospital grade infection control standards and the TVs will also be able to carry urgent hospital messages to patients.
