Ummah Welfare Trust was founded to challenge the huge poverty and injustice prevalent in the Ummah today. Inspired by the Islamic teachings of empathy and selflessness, the charity strives to support and uplift the impoverished through the beautiful act of charity.

Story

Hello! Myself and a large group of volunteers are climbing Mount Snowdon in August to raise money for those affected by the violence, war, poverty and disease in the Middle East. We are also holding a Fun Day mid August which we'll let you know about!

Hand in Hand for Syria is a unique charity because it operates within Syria itself, which many charities don't due to the social and political conflicts. They distribute aid to those who need it using their extensive networks meaning they can get to the hardest to reach areas, as well as providing education to children.

Most aid agencies can’t operate in Syria because of political or security restrictions. We can. We take medical and humanitarian aid into 90% of the country, using our unique and extensive networks on the ground in Syria. We also implement aid funded by, and on behalf of, some of the worlds biggest aid agencies, who are unable to get into Syria themselves.
