Story
I would like to celebrate my birthday this year in a special way and fund raise for Water4Ethiopia, the charity I admire for what they do. For years I have been looking for a charity which would transfer most of their donations for a charitable cause, and I found it - Water4Ethiopia gives 100% donations to Africa. I have been supporting them for a year now and shall definitely keep helping them.
To celebrate what Water4Ethiopia does, I shall translate from Russian to English an early poem by Alexander Pushkin, read it in unusual settings and film this. The poem I found is water-related, Pushkin's ancestors were Ethiopians according to some sources, and I am Russian, so all three points are nicely connected.:-)
My challenges:-
- Those who know me well can confirm that I am not a big fan of poetry in general (shame on me) and even more so of poetry translation. So it gives me a challenge.
- Those who don't know me personally and look at my picture above will be able to conslude what I am in reality. I shall however film myself reading the poem in an unusual way and unusual place (let it be secret for now;-)). I shall upload this video on Youtube. This presents the second challenge.
- Finally, I am aiming at raising this money in less than two weeks that are left till my birthday.
