Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Sometime in May I shall be doing the fundraiser 'Walk For ME' with one exception - I Won't Be Walking! instead my wonderful Support Worker of four years will be doing the walking while pushing me in my wheelchair (see I get to sit!) part the way around a local lake near to where we both live. 

Those of you who know me in realtime will know why I have set up this fundraising page. I have had M.E. for 11years now prior to which I raised a family, worked, travelled, socialised and was active in charitable organisations that were close to my heart. Now I find myself on the other end of the spectrum relying on a befriending service and support workers to help with my everyday needs - indeed these wonderful people do everything they can to make my life, as it is now more manageable.  

And what of my life now? well to say it was turned on its head over a decade ago is an understatement, so over the years I've created another life for myself albeit a very, very much more sedatary one due to being mostly housebound or in bed on Planet Duvet, but always vowing that The Bully M.E. is not going to take full command! Having a chronic illness has not robbed me of my feisty nature or humour! 

However my Greatest Wish for 2013 is that the proposed UK Biomedical Research Centre achieves the target 100k to enable it to be up and running so that eventually there is a diagnostic test for this illness instead of the long process of elimination of other like illnesses and perhaps eventually a Cure, and this is where you come in by donating even just a £1 to My Page here, jointly owned with Hector the Tortoise who sleeps wherever and whenever the mood takes him. Thank You To You All. x
