Ilana and Emma successfully completed the Run to the Beat Half Marathon!!! We finished the route in 2hrs 40 minutes, sprinted the last mile and attempted to be photographed by as many official Run to the Beat photographers as possible - so look out for our faces on the homepage! I can't promise that we'll be looking our best though!
Its not too late to donate - I am raising money for Redbridge Jewish Community Centre (Sinclair House) Day Centre for the Elderly, which my grandma attends!
The day centre provides an opportunity for elderly people living in the surrounding areas of Redbridge, Dagenham, Havering, Newham and Waltham Forest to come together in a social environment. There is a large range of activities available for the members such as reminiscence, keep-fit and relaxation classes, an arts and crafts programme, poetry and discussion groups, card games, bingo and a variety of entertainment and regular organised outings are often arranged. The Centre also has a stroke group that meets once a week. Transport is also provided to help people make their way to and from the centre and for many without this they would simply not be to get there. It would be amazing to raise some funds for more musical entertainment, and to ensure that the centre continues with its great work!!!
