Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are back and WOW, what a trip. It was absolutely fantastic but the TREK was tough, at least it was for me, both physically and mentally. Luckily the Sherpa Boys made sure I didn't fall off of any ledges or go head first down any stone steps...!  And whilst it was challenging, the sense of achievement I felt at the end, is beyond words. Got to start looking for the next one now.....!

We are soon to embark on a trip to Nepal, which includes a five day Trek in the Annapurna Range of the Himalayas. We wanted to do something special to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and also, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

Despite the time that has elapsed, the people of Belarus and Ukraine live with it's legacy everyday. Children continue to be born with horrific birth defects and the incidence of childhood cancers continues to rise.

However, by getting away from the contaminated environment in which they live, for just one month, gives a childs immune system such a boost, that they will enjoy the health benefits for up to two years after they return home. Many will then grow to adulthood without developing some form of cancer.

It is vital that we offer as many children as we can the opportunity of a recuperative care holiday, but to do that we need Host Families and we also need money.

It costs us £5000 to bring ten children and their interpreter for one months recuperation, which is why this amount is our target. Please be as generous as you can and help us to give the Belarusian and Ukrainian children of today, the opportunity of a future tomorrow.

On behalf of the children, Spaseebo or, Thank You Very Much!
