We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to read my JustGiving page.

In February 2018 we received the tragic news that our much loved Son and Brother had passed away. Our lives were turned upside down and hearts broken forever.

We have decided that we would like to fundraise in Jordan's memory each year, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge will be our first event. Jordan would have had no problem completing the challenge - he was definitely the fittest one in our family! We hope we can all make him proud and complete the challenge.

On Saturday 1st June 2019, a group of Jordan's family and close friends will all attempt the challenge together to raise money for our chosen charities.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24.5 miles, and includes 1585m of ascent.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, in under 12 hours.

Our chosen charities are Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) and Survivors of Breavement by Suicide (SOBS).

CALM are leading a movement against suicide, which is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. They proivde a free and anonymous helpline and webchat staffed by trained professionals. As well as campaigns tackling stereotypes of masculinity, suicide and male mental health.

SOBS is a national charity providing support to adults who have been bereaved by suicide. They hold support groups throughout the UK, as well as offering support via phone and email. Volunteers who help run their services come from all walks of life, but nearly all have been touched by suicide themselves.
