WE DID IT!!
Thank you so much to everyone who donated here, or to Machu Pikachu. We made it to Machu Picchu - you can see the video here: http://www.mndscotland.org.uk/2012/11/over-50000-raised-by-inca-trail-trek/ and as a group we've raised over £50,000 (net) so far.
Thank you so much.

I've signed up for the great Scottish run 10k on 02/09, all part of the training! Going for under the hour...

Saturday mornings used to be for hangovers. Now they're for training...
So! I swam with sharks (duuuuh duh duuuuuh duh) last Sunday, as a way of convincing you lovely people to gimme yer cash. And some of you did, and that was AWESOME. Thank you.
However, I'm going to keep asking. I am. The money that you give really does help people. I know, because I meet them all the time.

But not as scary as having MND. Please sponsor me to take on this challenge :)

So then - looks like I'm going to be swimming with sharks tomorrow - which is more than a little scary!
Since 2010 I've worked at MND Scotland, raising money to help those affected by Motor Neurone Disease, which is a bloody awful disease. No treatment, no cure, and an average life expectancy of 14 months from diagnosis.
This year I'm going to trek the Inca Trail as the charity rep; to document the trip and to support our team of fundraisers, to say thank you and to offer encouragement. The travel co waive costs for charity reps (as we're working & they want us there to support the group) but I'm not going to turn down an opportunity to raise some money for this excellent cause!
I've seen how our Care Team use their expertise to coordinate the best possible healthcare for someone with MND. How the Welfare & Benefits service brings relief and peace of mind to those struggling to figure out how they're going to pay for home adaptations. I've seen how important our services are to those that use them; to those who are losing a loved one; to those that have already lost them.
Gimme yer cash.
Please.
