<p>Just would like to say a BIG thank you for all of your kind donations on behalf of the children and families in Malawi, Shine Relief and myself.</p>
<p>I had an amazing experience out there, and it was most definately an 'eye-opener' to all of the luxuries we actually have out here in the UK; from things such as a running tap for water, electricity, appropriate clothing/footwear, a secure roof over our heads, good education system, and most importantly a family's love.</p>
<p>It is a real shame to witness how not everyone is as fortunate as we are, so it is very important we do appreciate and value everything we do have, and where possible help the people in need.</p>

<p>As most of you already know, I am travelling to Malawi, South Africa on the 5th September, 2011. I have volunteered to work on a project supporting the local orphanages in Malawi. I will be going out there alone and will be working in the orphanages throughout September where my time will be spent assisting in feeding, one to one mentoring, entertaining, teaching and being another pair of ears for the children. You can too help! Your donations can make an incredible difference to a child's life. We have so much. We have wealth, healthcare and education, whilst others have nothing at all. <p>You may be thinking, why Malawi? Malawi is among the world's least developed countries. There is widespread poverty throughout the entire country due to many factors. Night after night children go to bed hungry and thousands die daily of preventable diseases. In the extreme low income category of the Zomba district it is common for families not to have access to education, health, housing and food. Children can suffer all these forms of neglect. Malawi has a low life expectancy and high infant mortality. There is a high prevalence of HIV/AIDS, which is a drain on the labour force and government expenditures. </p>

<p>Shine Relief Trust was set up to relieve the suffering orphans, widows and the poor in Malawi. Shine has a team working in the Zomba district of Malawi and a Trust providing support from the UK. Through various projects Shine seeks to feed, love and bless those in desperate need by providing for their basic human needs with a high emphasis on care.</p>

<p>The poor are not lazy, they are hard working people who are clever and industrious. But when you work hard everyday and still have nothing to show for it at the end, it is easy to eventually lose hope. Let's give them hope.
