Kennet Kanter · 6 June 2010

We raised £1million in ten years to develop facilities at Rowdeford School for pupils with complex learning difficulties. They leave school full of confidence, but do not often find work, so we are now creating an Eco Learning Centre to equip them with skills to enhance their employment prospects.

Story

This will be my third Kennet Kanter and I'm running with Jennie Brown, my long-standing running partner.  We usually run at weekends and sometimes during the week when we can fit it in.

I am running on behalf of Rowdeford Charity Trust to help raise the remaining funds for the Arts Centre.  So far the Trust has raised nearly £600,000 for this project but it still needs to raise a further £15,000 towards the installation of a lighting rig and sound equipment.  The Arts Centre has school use and it has made a huge difference to the pupils, all of whom have social and communication difficulties, including autism. It is also has community use and in the next few months we will be hosting a range of events including a youth theatre event for Devizes Festival, a youth club run by the National Autistic Society, ASD training for Wiltshire College staff and dance, drama and drumming workshops.

This is such a worthy cause.  All of the money raised will go towards this project.  We are so near to our final total and you can help us achieve it.
