Hello! Greetings! Asalaamu Alaykum!

If you are reading this, it is safe to assume that you have access to some form of technology, whether that be a phone, a laptop or even a tablet. And if you have one of the above, or possibly more, you need the internet to be able to read this message. In having these 'essentials' in the comfort of our own homes it is often easy to forget the less fortunate. I'm speaking of those who cannot even afford their daily bread, whilst we have the luxury of everything we need just one smart click away.

Think about it, whatever we need can be bought online, there is a site for everything.We do not even need to leave the front door to buy our groceries these days as it can be delivered to our houses yet somewhere along the line we forgot to use the internet to help better the lives of others. Yes, we live a good life but what of those who do not even have a roof over their head? Those who endure silently as we neglect their suffering behind our fancy screens. Out of sight, out of mind. 

Did you know that during the last 5 years of the conflict within Syria, over 4 million Syrians have fled in order to find safety in other countries such as Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt and many in Europe. That's over 4 million innocents ripped of their livelihood as they fled to seek refuge. Over 4 million mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, brothers and sisters displaced in unknown places as they strive to keep each other out of harms way. Yet even after escaping the conflict, they are faced with greater struggles daily  having to live their lives in exile from the place they call home. 

A change is needed.

Well that's where you come in, to help us and the SKT Welfare raise money for the Springs of Hope Family Centre in Turkey. Now, this is not just a regular charity call whereby we ask you to donate and we sit back. No, we will be tackling Mount Snowdon in Wales to earn your money in a bid to collect enough to house Syrian widows and orphans that have fled the ongoing war.

Remember my earlier ramblings about the internet? Well now you don't need to hide behind the screen but instead you can use it to donate. All you have to do is sponsor us, as little as 10 pounds will be appreciated greatly, to help us reach our goal of 300 pounds. With your support, Iqra and I will be able to bravely trek up Mount Snowdon keeping all those affected by war in mind. We'l be doing the hiking but none of it will matter unless we are able to gain your assistance on this quest to better the lives of our fellow Muslims, or better yet, our fellow brothers as we prove together that we still have humanity within us. 

It can also be worth noting that the donation can be given as a part of your Zakaat, you just need to mention it.
