As our beautiful baby girl Iris arrived so early at 28 weeks and only 1lb 13ozs she has spent all of her short life at the special care baby unit in York Hospital. They're doing such a wonderful job there for so many of the early and sick babies that we thought we'd try and raise some money so they can put it towards vital equipment like ventilators etc.
Iris is now up to 3lb 1oz and is gaining weight slowly,we're hoping she'll be out of the incubator soon and in a cot.
UPDATE
Iris has now left the building!
After much love, care and attention from all the staff at York SCBU Iris grew big enough and strong enough to make a start out in the big wide world. She came home on 30/08/10 and hasn't stopped growing since! She's just under 8lbs now and counting!
