LDSAMRA is the umbrella body for the 12 rescue teams in the Lake District. It speaks on behalf of, represents the interests of and accepts donations intended to support the work of the region.

Story

I've chosen the Lake District Mountain Rescue Association (http://www.ldsamra.org.uk/) as the Lakes teams do a huge amount of work ensuring the safety of everyone in the area as well as supporting many other events such as the Keswick to Barrow walk.

The marathon takes place on the 30th June in Lancaster.

There is more information about the event on the website: http://www.lancaster-race-series.co.uk/lancaster-marathon/.

Feel free to come and wave a flag (especially at the top of Littledale, when I'll probably be flagging), or throw some cash at a good cause and put your feet up with the paper, safe in the knowledge someone else is doing the hard work.
