At Ironbridge we aim to provide the best that rowing can offer and, very importantly, to make it possible for people from any background who want to experience our sport to be able to do so. Today’s racing boats, oars and sculls are ultra-lightweight, high-tech items with a typical lifespan of ten years, and they are of course expensive. Our policy of keeping club subscriptions at a level which is affordable for all means we have to look at other ways of raising necessary funds. So from 1pm on Saturday 5th April, members of Ironbridge Rowing Club will take to the erg (indoor rowing machine) and row the equivalent of the River Severn in its entirety... 354km!

 

Members old and young, novice and veteran, will take to the erg for any time they can spare during the 24 hours and row their little hearts out. 

 

The idea is to raise some pennies for the club as well as three charities close to members' hearts: Mind, The Stroke Foundation, and The Cavalier Centre Project.
