Story
Isabella was born with a rare condition called Edwards Syndrome, she fought hard to live four days where she gave us her love, peace and strength of spirit to fight on for all the the families that need ongoing support .
In order for us to thank the hospital that supported us and her in her final hours we pledged our support to help save other babies and families in their hours of need
We exceeded our target of £5,000.00 which we are so thrilled to celebrate with our friends and family who have continued to support us in our pledge to make a difference by saving lives. We heard recently about the urgency the hospital has to buy an ambulance incubator for transportation across all South West hospitals of very poorly babies who without this service would die on route. So we have extended our challenge to raise a further £500.00
Harvey our incredible son ran the Yeovil Half Marathon to raise money for the charity raising a fabulous £653.00 (this total is now added to the total above as he has his own webpage:
http://www.justgiving.com/Julie-Furney2

19 Sept 2011 We have kindly been donated gorgeous fabric by Cath Kidston Ltd to make blankets and pillow slips for the unit - Julie will be asking for volunteers with sewing machines to stitch together sheets for the incubators which will be used to brighten things up for the babies and families in the Neonatal Unit.........
Feb 2012: We have now made lots of beautiful incubator quilts and pillow sheets that will make a real difference to the parents of each baby they are given to. When a baby is in an incubator in intensive care you have no way of holding them or looking after them in a way that you would do normally or at home - so a simple pretty blanket where you can 'tuck baby in' or lay baby on top of can help the bonding process enourmously by personalising the environment and giving baby an identity. Grace was amazing by cutting every one out with Julie, she loved matching pretty fabrics with soft pink, white, purple or blue fleece to make each one individual. Ruth, a dear friend of the family has excelled in her support stitching together each quilt with great pride. Huge thanks to all who have helped make this happen! XX
