<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>Anyone who knows me will know just how passionate I am about "Contact the Elderly". My father was a volunteer driver for over 25 years and when he sadly passed away, I decided to step in. I have been a volunteer driver and host for six years now and last year&nbsp;joined CtE as a staff member managing and developing groups in North London. Over the years, I have had the privilege of meeting some really lovely, genuinely warm and truly inspirational people - volunteers and older members alike. I have had so much fun and heard some wonderful life stories (some sad but mostly really funny and eye-opening!)&nbsp; It is so rewarding to see so many smiles and happy faces on the faces of our older members who would otherwise be&nbsp;very lonely and isolated&nbsp;without their once a month Sunday outing meeting and making friends of all ages over a cup of tea and yummy cakes. (Not for nothing have I managed to put on over a stone in the past year!!). Anyone who knows me will also know how much I HATE running (old school buddies will no doubt remember me serially bunking off PE lessons and cross-country with the pathetic excuse of forgetting my kit every single week!)&nbsp;so this is going to be a real tough challenge for me. However, it is really worthy cause and if you sponsor me (no matter how small the amount - any donations gratefully received!)&nbsp;I can&nbsp;guarantee that your money will go towards helping CtE to alleviate the problem of&nbsp;lonliness and isolation amongst older people&nbsp;in the nicest possible way - by inviting them to tea and making new friends.&nbsp;As well as making some lonely, older people very happy, you will also be&nbsp;helping me&nbsp;to reduce my rapidly-expanding waistline and have a laugh watching (or imagining) me limp towards that Finishing Line!! :-) :-) :-)</p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
