Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last summer my fiancés young cousin Emily Pierson (aged 9) was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease called Nephrotic Syndrome. This rare condition affects around 10,000 people in the UK but doctors do not fully understand the cause and there is currently no known cure.
A dedicated team at the specialist Kidney Unit at Bristol Children's hospital is researching the disorder in hope of finding a cure. This research work is funded solely by charitable donations and grants and has to proceed on a project-by-project basis. The Nephrotic Syndrome Trust is a dedicated charity set up to raise money to fund this vital research. The Trust aims to raise awareness of the disease and funds for research to find a cure that will help our Emily and many others.
To help this cause I’m asking for your support to sponsor me to raise awareness and much money as I can for NeST in hope that the vital research will find a cure that will help Emily and around 10,000 other suffers in the UK. I would be totally grateful for even the smallest donation and thank you in advance for your support.
On Monday 21 February a local newspaper featured an article about Emily and her rare condition to read the article visit http://www.echo-news.co.uk/news/8866099.Brave_Emily_fights_rare_kidney_disorder/
