Hi everyone!

As some of you may know I've been volunteering in the Philippines for a disaster response charity in the wake of  typhoon Yolanda.
I've been deconstructing destroyed homes, moving rubble and building temporary shelters to house some of the thousands of people on Leyte who are still living in dire conditions. 

As a team we want to raise 1.1 million Philippine Pesos between now and the 9th of November, the one year anniversary of Super-Typhoon Yolanda. Although huge progress has been made, 31,000 of those affected by the typhoon still go to bed each night in tents or without adequate housing. With 1.1 million pesos (US$25,188.92), one peso for every house that was destroyed, we can construct nine new homes and strengthen the communities in which they are built.

We kicked off this campaign with over 40 of us  running in Tacloban City. With your help we raised over $7000. But we aren't done. We still need to raise over $14000.

I was lucky enough to be part of the pilot project where we built permanent homes for two families in Tacloban. We worked right alongside Marvin Pedrosa, building his home. He took incredible pride in helping us and even chided some of our less pretty carpentry.

I want to build homes for other families like Marvin's who have been displaced from their home for over 9 months.  In order to do this we need your help donating and spreading the campaign. We are  spending the next 30 days FUNdraising. There will be events here in Tacloban as well as opportunities for everyone around the world to get involved.
