Story

Hey!

On 20th May 2018, I'm running the Hackney Half Marathon to raise 💰💰💰 to enable another ambitious person from a not-so-well-off background to do Year Here, the amazing course where I set up my award-winning social enterprise, Cracked It 📱 🛠

Team GB Olympic marathon runner Paula Radcliffe recommends "plenty of protein" before a long-distance challenge. Many have said that I need to push to the boat out when it comes to my proteins (and vitamins), though, and to not just rely on the chicken shop round the corner 🍗

In that light, if we hit the following fundraising targets, I'll bulk myself up by eating each of these foods packed full of loads of protein (and/or vitamins) - on camera 😅:

  • Reach £50 - Cat food 🐱 -  ✅
  • Reach £100 - Tripe mix (dog food) 🐶 -  ✅
  • Reach £150 - Goat stomach 🐐 -  ✅
  • Reach £200 - Scotch bonnet chilli 🌶 -  ✅
  • Reach £250 - Pig heart ❤️ -  ✅
  • Reach £300 - Locusts 🦗  -  ✅
  • Reach £350 - Lamb lung 🍠 - ✅
  • Reach £400 - Lamb testicle 🥚 - ✅
Paula Radcliffe, eat your heart out... 😝

I'm trying to do my bit. Can you do yours and support me?

Thanks so much! 🙏

Josh

A note from Year Here:

Putting a year aside to do to Year Here is a big sacrifice for anyone, but if you have no savings or parental support taking part can be near impossible. We want to work with people who have the most potential for social impact, regardless of their background or financial circumstances, and we definitely don't want to contribute social inequality.

Over the past few years, we've been able to provide bursaries through generous contributions from philanthropists. We want to expand the number of bursaries we can offer to enable more people get started as social entrepreneurs, and to use their creativity and energy to help make a better world.

We think that crowdfunding is a good start, which is why we are running Hackney for the 5th year in a row. We're asking for your support to meet our target of £5,000. This will enable one Fellow to participate in our ten-month programme, delivering hundreds of hours of voluntary work, with the potential to go on to change the lives of thousands of people. Please help us to help them change the world!

The money will be raised and distributed through our partners CIVA, and all proceeds will go to a Year Here Fellow.
