Story

Yes, the idea of me completing a triathlon is both hilarious and wildly optimisitic. But I wanted to set myself a really HUGE challenge to give people good reason to sponsor me and raise funds for the wonderful Miriam Hyman Memorial Trust.

Miriam was tragically killed on board the bus involved in the London bombings in 2007. Mim & I volunteered together, fundraising for a myeloma charity shortly after I lost my Dad to the disease. Miriam helped me through a very difficult time of loss and I have always felt indebted to her for this. She was truly unique; her spirituality and selflessness fundamentally affected me and the way I try to live my life.

I'm delighted to be able to support the amazing work the MHMT does to improve the lives of visually-impaired children in Orissa. To date, the Miriam Hyman Children’s Eye care Centre (located within the L V Prasad Eye Institute, India) has provided 34,000 outpatient appointments and 3,000 surgeries.

For many years I have wanted to raise money for Mim's memorial fund as a means of saying thank you for the love and support she showed me, a virtual stranger, eight years ago. Finally, I have taken the plunge. Please do give anything you can to help spur me on to raise as much money as we can for this wonderful cause.

Your support really will change lives, and ensure that Mim's memory lives on.

Thank you so much xxxx
